Instructions on how to manage a Lead

Lead Creation
Use this feature when you want to create a Lead, but do not currently have enough information about which product the customer wants, to create a quote or an order.
On the left menu, go to Sales and select Leads. Click Create in the upper right corner, and it will prompt you to assign a location, if you do not have any locations, please see how to add user to location.
- In widget 1, fill in the contact information. If this is an existing or returning customer, use the search box to search for a customer. Click Confirm Information.
- In widget 2, the sales person and sales person email will autofill from the user you signed in with. Select the Sales Location you’re selling from. Learn how to add Sales Locations here. And place a date.
- You can upload any attachements or notes in this lead if you need for future reference.
- Next choose an action with this Lead:
- Save and Close will save your lead and return you to the Active Leads list.
- Place to Sales Order will use the information from this Lead and attach it to a sales order.
- Place to Quote will use the information from this Lead and attach it to a Quote.
Active Leads
Here you'll find a list of all Active Leads. These can be manually created and then placed to a sales order, place to quote, move to lost or retire the lead.
Lost Leads
On the Active Leads list, if you select the "Move to Lost" action for a lead, it will change the status of that lead to Lost, and you can find it in this status. Once in that status, you can leave it here or you have the option to Activate it again or simply Retire that Lead.
Sold Leads
When you take a Lead and Place to Sales Order or Place to Quote, it will change the status of the Lead to Sold. In this status you can only view that Lead then.
Retired Leads
On the Active Leads list, if you select the "Retire Lead" action for a lead, it will change the status of that lead to Retired, and you can find it in this status. Once in that status, you can leave it here or you have the option to Activate it again or Move to Lost.
These features allow you to keep your Active Leads tab cleaned up and only work those leads.Was this article helpful?
