This tutorial will walk you through the steps to adding a Kit.
Instructions on how to set up Kits
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Throughout this tutorial, keep in mind that you cannot add any identical Display Names or Codes across anything in Inventory. No two may be alike. It will give you an error if you try to enter one that is identical to an existing one.
Kit Categories Group
On the main menu, go to the Inventory module. Select Kits in the drop down. Then to set organization for a Kit, you will first need to create a Category Group, then a Category, then a Line.
To create the Kit Category Group, click the + button and add a Display Name and a Code. The SKU will automatically generate with the codes you entered. Choose whether you want to hide or show this part of the SKU by clicking the box named Hide SKU. Finish by clicking Create.
Kit Categories
Next, go to Kit Categories in the menu across the top and click +. Select the correct Kit Category Group from the dropdown. Add your Kit Category Display Name and Code. See how the SKU automatically adds up and then choose if you want to show or hide the SKU. Click Create.
Kit Line
Next, add a Kit Line. Select the correct Category Group and then Category from the drop downs. Then enter a Display Name and Code. See how the SKU automatically adds up and then choose if you want to show or hide the SKU. Click Create.
Kits
Now that you have the levels of categorization entered, you can now enter your Kit! Choose the correct options from the dropdown and fill out the Display Name and Code. The SKU has now added up each of the previous codes. Add a description for this Kit if you need more specific details.
Then we have Type of Behavior, here you'll select which one applies to this kit, this will impact the affecting color options, and 3D environment, so it's crucial the correct selection is made.
If this is an item you need to have displayed as an option/standard feature for a product on the 3D Configurator, make sure to click on "Is Option" and "Is 3D" to apply the correct settings for the Bill of Materials (BOM), allowing it to be selectable in the 3D view. Choose whether or not to Hide the SKU. Upload a model for the 3D (learn more about 3D files). Click Create once you’re done.
Great job, you just added a Kit! The next step is to complete the settings for this Kit. Click on the Settings icon on the Kit you just entered.
Modeler
Here you can see the information of the kit you just uploaded. Once you add the sub-kits and upload the 3D model file, you'll be able to see the complete rendering here and can interact with the model by selecting the conditations and compatible colors with that kit based from Behavior Type that was selected in creation of the kit.
Pricing
This will allow you to set different prices for different sales locations, plants, or states you operate in, etc. Create a new Price Level, set the price and Unit of Measure and Margin and Formula (or you can leave those as empty if you're not sure). Then click Save Changes.
After creating a new level, you can edit the base price and add/remove locations if needed.
Component Of
Next proceed to the Component Of screen. This screen will show you everywhere this Kit has been added to as a component.
On this screen, you'll see the option to "Add Kit to Parent", this allows you to search for any Product + Size combination and add directly to that BOM with the correct quantity and flags of Standard Feature or Is Option.

Components
Then go to the Components tab. This section allows you to add the correct Raw Product components for your Manufacturing Batch directly to this kit i.e., a grouping of the raw product inventory based on what options are available to sell. Search for the Raw Products you need to add, then review and confirm by clicking Save Changes.
Gallery
The Gallery screen allows you to place informative images for your Kits. If this kit is flagged as "is 3D" then the image will be used on the 3D Configurator as a tooltip image for your users and customers.
It is best to upload web optimized images for speed optimization.
