Create a New Location
Here are the location field descriptions:
- Location Code: numeric or text code identifier for the location
- Location Name: place the display name of the location that you want to see visually
- Location Type: select from the available types (see location type meanings)
- Dealer Company Logo: this logo will activate a dealer co-branded contract, can be left empty or place the dealer/location specific logo
- Address: if the location is sales location or corporte office type, the specific geo coordinates will be used to calculate the mileage from the closest location to customer on Sales Order
Location Types
- Plant: this is used for Finished Goods
- Warehouse: this is used for raw material inventory, and added as a sub-location to Plant
- Bay: this is used for raw material inventory inside a warehouse, and added as a sub-location to Warehouse
- Corporate Office: this can be used to move finished goods to/from and to be able to assign leads/quotes/sales orders to this location
- Sales Location: this can be used to move finished goods to/from and to be able to assign leads/quotes/sales orders to this location
Sub-Locations
After a location is created, you then have the option to add sub-locations, see location types for some ways of implementing that feature. It helps to organize the locations for Plants, Warehouses, and Bays, and also is needed on the Work Order when assigning to location.
